The F6F Hellcat answered the U.S. Navy's urgent call for a fast and maneuverable fighter that could challenge Japan's A6M Zero. After entering service in 1943, the F6F established a remarkable combat record in the Pacific and in Europe. Ultimately, Hellcats destroyed 5,163 enemy planes while suffering losses of only 270 aircraft. This highly detailed Matchbox Collectible die-cast plane measures 7" long. Comes with display stand.
